I knew there was going to be a downside to all of this. Now I am officially going to have to talk about politics. Honestly, I don't really know who I support because I gave up after Dec/06 when the Islamic Courts got ran out of Somalia, so it's been a year since I even kept up with current affairs in Somalia. While the ICU brought relative peace and stability to a place that had none for a short period of time and I believe were truly sincere in their efforts to bring respect and peace back to Somalia, they also made many fatal mistakes which brought their downfall. They had their chance and blew it, and now I don't see why they should fight to get it back, because they're not helping the people of Somalia by resorting to insurgency-style warfare, it's just causing more problems and more deaths. All I can say now is that I support all those that are genuinely concerned about the people of Somalia and their well-being, which does not include Abdullahi Yusuf, or the TFG. As for Nur Adde, I don't know anything about him, so I can't say anything about him. We'll just have to wait and see.

Even after I offended you with false tales of Chinese restaurant dog meat I can't say I'm a true Somali because I still don't know the language fluently, so I still look like a fool while I'm in the Somali restaurant staring at the wall while the guys beside me are talking a mile a minute. But I definitely learned a lot over the years about Somalia, it's people and it's culture and keep learning. It's also kinda funny how I teach people from other countries about Somali culture as well. But someday insha Allah I'll learn the language and it'll be all good. In many occasions we tend to forget that he is Canadian Cadaan amongst us – related to us by former marriage; And future marriage as well insha Allah.

Matter of fact, I would think that women in Somalia are tougher and more resilient due to the circumstances and her environment. And I've heard some horror stories too. I cringed when my ex told me a story about a woman in Muqdisho who poured scalding hot xalwo all over her husband's ahem.....unmentionables, when she found out he had been cheating. :eek: :eek: :eek:

It's not easy to walk into Wal-Mart just to buy a particular item and leave with just that item. I usually leave with at least 3 or 4 things extra on top of what I came in for, but I don't spend $80 or $120 at a time, that's too much. Besides, I'm too broke to spend that much money every time.

Well, winter has arrived here in Canada. It got down to around -20C last night and with the wind, it felt more like -30. Mine is -47 degrees Celsius, when I lived in northern Alberta as a child. Not only did I still have to go to school that day(I was 9 or 10), but I also had to walk!! :mad:
