    This news blackout is merely a facade to buy time. Both sides are waiting for the new in-coming US administration to provide a way forward. So this war is now effectively a frozen conflict until Jan 20, with the Tigray digging in and holding on for dear life within the limits of their formidable redoubt of Mekelle.
