SOMALIA’S INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS URGE POLITICAL CONSENSUS TO ENSURE TIMELY ELECTIONS, ADVANCE NATIONAL PRIORITIES, AND PRESERVE STABILITY Mogadishu – Somalia’s international partners* express their concern and their strong hope that recent political developments, including in the Federal Parliament, will not undermine efforts to reach political consensus on timely elections, disrupt Somalia’s reform agenda, or create instability that may reverse the gains made so far on national priorities. The partners have consistently called for inclusive consultations to achieve broad-based agreement on the modalities for the 2020 elections. This is why they welcomed the decisions reached by the Federal and State leaders in Dhusamareb on 22 July as an important step towards that goal. The international partners expect the Federal and State leaders to honour the agreements reached on 22 July in Dhusamareb and the timelines for follow-up meetings bringing together the Federal Government, Federal Member States, the Federal Parliament leadership, political parties and civil society representatives. Any attempt by a single stakeholder to unilaterally impose electoral modalities will lack legitimacy and will not be implementable without the essential support from other stakeholders. The partners will closely follow developments going forward. Commitment to agreed national priorities and to resolving issues through dialogue and compromise is vital for continued international support to Somalia at current levels. The partners urge the immediate nomination of all members of the FGS-FMS Technical Committee and stand ready to facilitate its work, so that it can be completed within the agreed two weeks from the date of the Dhusamareb meeting. *Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ethiopia, European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Netherlands, Norway, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Poland, Qatar, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, and the United Nations Somalia’s International Partners Urge Political Consensus to Ensure Timely Elections, Advance National Priorities, and Preserve Stability | UNSOM UNSOM.UNMISSIONS.ORG Mogadishu – Somalia’s international partners* express their concern and their strong hope that recent political developments, including in the Federal Parliament, will not undermine efforts to reach political...

This is like when the Doctors call for a urgent family meeting regarding the faith of their terminally ill loved one on life support and declaring "we will be switching off the machines". It is not a laughing matter indeed. That is what this press release reads out like.

^^ I think we will trust a neutral body like Netblock than N&N (one N now) mouth piece. The independent evidence is that the internet was blocked on purpose.

Oodweyne in a moment similar to Nostradamus forewarned us. LoL The boosaneero I crawled out of is the upper east side, manhattan, USA. You might have heard of it but sadly they don’t allow your preferred trade. It’s strictly against the law.

Why don't you guys quit this kind of animosity and name calling each other. No matter how much you call each other boosaneero (whatever that means) or beggers, non of your insults will have any effect on the reality on the ground. Neither can MMA stop Somaliland's forward march nor can the duriyad brigade here change the monkey like behaviour of the bunker pseudo government and their kangaroo pseudo parliament. Please all of you take a chill pill and relax. Ok?

    1. Ethiopia, Kenya, & Qatar - in reality they don't support what the statement says. 2. IGAD - doesn't really know why it has added its name to this statement. 3. IOC - it is the most useless talk shop on the planet. 4. UN - represents the western donor nations. 5. Poland - it is currently led my a racist anti Muslim fascists so it probably signed this document to look good in the eyes of its fellow EU allies. 6. Japan - a neutral donor following the lead of its Western allies. 7. The Americans & western Europeans - they are the real authorities of Somalia.

The source of the press release is more important than how a private news organisation translates or reports on that press release. This is what Airlines, Travel agencies and all other important travel industry organisation were sent.

Hello; Roughly 20 years ago I remember this beggar from Baidoa nearly lost it when President Riyaale expelled from Somaliland a couple of hundred Professional beggars from Baidoa and it seems he’s still bitter about it. Sadly in my absence from SOL no one bothered to set him straight so I will try to play the devils advocate here and break the sad news to him knowing fully well how obstinate beggars are. President Biixi does not chew qaad, smoke or drink. I know your beggers mind can’t and won’t grasp that but it’s a FACT. However I can’t say the same for your Fellow beggars back home in Baidoa and among the few in the diaspora. 75% of the income your folks earn begging in Mogadishu is spent on those 2 vices. both alcohol and qaad have become a favorite pastime in Baidoa enjoyed by many of the locals. Even the former chief beggar Jawari was an alcoholic. Excuse me if I forgot my manners but one can’t but help kick an obtuse beggar once in a while. good to see the old folks who I knew from many many years ago btw.

Time and tide wait for no man. Great progress, should help minimize disputes over ownership of land / property.
