Ethiopia’s plans to restrict water in the Nile is an existential threat to Egypt, and the importance of Egypt’s stability for the U.S, Israel and Europe can hardly be underestimated. Ethiopia is too low on the totem pole for Uncle Sam to side with them over this issue. The Nile is Egypt’s River and the sooner the Ethiopes accept it the better it will be for them.
