1 pointAs usual an angry Muuse is uniting and building the ranks of the opposition. When some of us called this a Jeegaan government, many people among the ruling class and their supporters felt insulted and called us divisive and anti Somaliland. Yet, time and again they are proving us right by calling what it is. The man elected to the parliament might represent a certain region, town or county, but ministers appointed to the cabinet indicate to the public about good governance, integrity and inclusiveness (Dawlad Wadaag iyo dawlad Wanaag ummadda U Dhaxaysa). Only an angry and reckless fool would think that after a messy election he would be the president of only those who voted for him. Reer Hebel Inooma Footayn ee waxba ha siin , inagana Ilaaliya. I have written a lot about Muuse Biixi before and after the election, and my prediction is coming home to the point. His track record and his past is open in public records. He always created problems and never fixed them in his own history. I did not finish reading the book , From Rural to the palace , by the able and energetic former chief of staff of Ahmed Siilaanyo Hirsi Cali Hassan , who had written and showed us a glimpse of the political thinking of Muuse Biisi. In the late pages, he narrates a meeting in the cabinet attended by the ministers and president by Ahmed Siilaanyo. He said, " President Siilaanyo had informed his cabinet about the coming demonstration called by Parliament chairman and opposition leader C/raxman Cirro , and asked the cabinet what to do about in order to stop this demonstration for taking place ( waar maxaan ka yeelaa Cirro Mudaharrad ayuu ku dhawaaqee?). " As cabinet was delibrating, suddenly, Muuse Biixi who was the leader of Kulmiye , entered and Siilaanyo told him to take a seat among the cabinet. Siilaanyo repeated the same question and asked Muuse to add his few senses". Hersi said that he was expecting Muuse to brain storm and bring some meaningful suggestions to stop the demonstrations and resolve the matter in peaceful manner. " Muuse ayaa hadalkii qaatay markaasu yidhi, waar caawadan aynu Joogno aan gudoomiye Cirro soo xidhno oo soo qabano " The fool wanted to arrest chairman Ciroo at that same night. Hersi was shocked and said, " The person we are talking about is the chairman of the Somaliland parliament and the head of the opposition party, and not a petty criminal from the street, so we need to resolve the issue without confrontation". Hersi continued, " In fact many members of the cabinet laughed at his reckless suggestion without thinking". According to Hersi that was one of the major reasons he wanted to promote Mohamed Bihi Yoonis and others to lead the Kulmiye party than this renegade. As history has shown Hersi was correct. This narrative from Hersi shows also how Muuse Biixi interfered with the cabinet of Ahmed Siilaanyo. In fact the last cabinet of the Siilaanyo was hand picked by Muuse which sidelined the likes of Cali Waran Cadde in favor of Faratoon from Sool. Now, rather than fix the imbalance in the cabinet and the government to make more inclusive among the regions, he went ahead to double down and marginalize those he perceived as his enemies. Their crime is that the majority of them might have voted for the opposition. As a paranoid rebel, he kicked out the last meaningful cabinet member from Soiuth Hargeisa and the G/X community. AS we speak, there is no any meaningful cabinet member from one of the largest communities of Somaliland. The western Jeeagaan were already controlling the Berbera port, military, courts, deputy police chief and the foreign (Aid) affaires ministry. Since everything is measured on tribal terms certain members must be purged from the government for political reasons. In my humble opinion, the purging of the finance minister and the manager of the Hargeisa airport replaced with a western Jeegaan last week are motivated by politics and tribal moves. The chairman of UCID Faysal Cali Waraabe had decided to stop collaborating with Muuse and become a real opposition party. Rather than being a useful idiot used for whipping the real opposition, Mr. Faysal had decided to use his eloquent oratory and project himself for future leadership. In fact, Faysal Waraabe has a great ability to sway the public opinion and isolate Musse in his bunker. Everyone knows that Faysal has a lot of cards to play and sideline Muuse as a weak and angry leader as shown by his last press conference. Rather than isolate Faysal and bring his community to the fold of the Kulmiye party which had supported them for many years, the angry rebel, Mr. Muuse Biixi, had decided to purge the Sand dune dwellers from his government. The first move was to replace the airport manager and now fire the the finance minister. The foreign minister is replaced by Yaasin Faratoon from Laascaanood, a man whose community is fighting and killing each other in Sool. According to a lot of people, Mr. Faratoon is sent to the outside world t get some donor money while Mr. Sacad Shire is taking control of the finance for the western Jeegaan. This moves and others would completely unite the opposition and those who supported them. This man, Muuse Biixi, is not interested about mending fences or bringing people together, even if it meant secluding himself in Hargeisa. The nose is probably tightening and he want to hide and rule from the Hargeisa bunker for the next few years. He is desperate, yet he refused to compromise on main issues like holding of an elections. In order to hold elections and satisfy the opposition demands, he could easily create a new election commission just like Dahir Rayaale did in 2009, yet for the angry man, that is a matter of life and death. Yaasiin Faratoon doesn't have the diplomatic background or any other ability to get the elusive " Aqoonsi",. In my opinion that issues is probably dead and the main reason of the appointment is to use a different face from the east to persuade the donors to dole out some more aid. When the tough talking Adna Aadan said, " we are willing to unite with our southern Somalis if and when they get a government elected by the people", I knew things were not the same in Hargeisa. There is a lot of fertile ground in Somalia to fix the southern problem, yet we have children in charge of Mogadishu that is being baby sited by western donors. They are nothing but paper tigers who could not pacify one single city for two years. There are two governments in Mogadishu, one is sitting in Halane garrison to write the checks while the other is living in green zones and check points manned by foreign troops. They operate in shiny well equipped offices and most of the workers live inside hotels. Finally, we all know that Muuse Biixi will not progress politically, but will regress as times pass. The problem is four years are too long for his eventual exit. By the time he finishes his mandate, their won't be a Somaliland. What most people do not understand is that you can't run a system by using the old and out dated tribal system. Those who had a history of struggle like the SNM, or the elders who saw destruction and war, will be disappearing from the scene soon and will be replaced by young people who want to have jobs and other modern life amenities. Muddo intee leeg ayaad ku Jiri , " Waar reer hebel iga qabo ama iga xali". Thirty years is probably enough, and this is not only an issue for Somaliland alone. Puntland has probably four more years before it disintegrates with the under current issues that are been resolved by the elders or other people with knowledge of history and tradition. Puntland was founded mostly by people who were displaced in Mogadishu and forced their homes and business which they nurtured since early forties. Those people who desired to create a place to take refuge while the Somali state was missing are dying or retiring. The more the Somali problem of state rebuilding drags the more it will affect the cohesiveness of other parts, and Puntland will not be different. As I said before, in these parts of the world, the later leader is always worse than his predecessor. The population is growing and the resources are dwindling. Clan corruption and maneuvering is open in the media and people could see those who gained power status and money without merit. Yet, despite all of that people are patient and only want peace and basic services. In many parts of the country, they have no appetite for war or confrontation unless they are pushed or showed contempt by the ruling class. When you replace a public servant who is doing his job without just cause, people would accept. I am not talking about ministers , but a middle level bureaucrat who neither committed offense, negligence or incompetence, yet replaced to make way for clan henchman. That would mean the end of the system. Folks, we are entering a very interesting week in politics in Hargeisa. Let us see if the man comes out of the bunker or he fires more and more of his perceived enemies.

1 pointThese statements are intended for the Amhara and Oromo constituents. Also, Abiy Ahmed is feeling the encroaching Amhara influence in Ethiopia. At the moment , he is buying time to consiladate power and fend off the eventual Amhara takeover. In 1974 when the king was deposed by popolar uprising, the then Oromo provisional president Tafari Bante ignored the Oromo mobs and others who were agitating , looting and the killings. The people demanded peace and change. Finally , a lowly Amhara Colonel called Mengistu Hailemarium came an took the power without mercy, and the rest is history. The Amhara is uniting and working with other minorities in major cities. Heck, they even agitated in Jigjiga to show their force. That is why Abiy is moving quick to satisfy the Amhara intelligentsia. He helped an Amhara woman to be president, and this week , he brought the Somali president and Asayas of Eritrea to Bahir Dar and Gondor the Amhara region major cities. The Tigray are sitting behind the scenes with their military, but the Amhara are the biggest threat. If Abiy really want to help Somalia, they must stop the weapons flooding to the insurgency between the two rivers (Hiiraan, middle and lower Shabeele, Bay and Jubba). I never get the idea of signing treaties while your nation is still bleeding. Mr. Farmaajo, go home and fix the problems in Hawl wadaag . As soon as this Abiy guy consolidates power, he could be even deadlier than Meles Zanawi. This guy want the UN, USA and others to forget about Somalia, Djibouti and other and deal with him directly. He must implement the old Amhara agenda or he will be history.
