1 pointI welcome the new port and I hope they build one in Luqhaya as well. The ban on building new ports in Somaliland is something that is not in the interest of Somaliland and I hope the government renegotiates that particular point in the contract.

1 pointThere are even Ethiopians who get mixed up on that, until they find out when an Eritrean goes what? The Tigre are more than 80 percent Moslems and Tigray are more than 90 percent Christians. The Tigre BTW I did not point out are also in Eastern Sudan (about a million). I was just pointing out the Eritrea Ethiopia only. There was funny cartoon from Amin Amir where the Sherifs and Aweys were talking Tigray this Tigray that in their conference in Eritrea, until young Aiidid came and told them there is more Tigray dominance here than in Ethiopia. It was priceless.

1 pointConclusions: AMISOM withdrawal is solely money based not based on strength of Somalia army Al Shabab cannot be defeated and cannot be negotiated with (wow what a dawner) Al Shabab is using marginalized communities who see no hope with the formulae, the non marginalezed cannot unite The federal Gov is not united, corrupt, and collection of various interests 2.5 million Somalis displaced next draught next crisis could be catastrophic. IDPs cannot farm, cannot develop always at risk for eviction by stronger clans. SNA is mistrusted by some important clans, poorly organized, Qatar Turkey control President, PM and UAE/Saudi control regional states On the other hand: Each of the presenters and members of the committee are showing bleak situation because they want American money directed to areas of their interest. Also want to show that Trump actions are bad. More money for this more money for that as each will benefit Congress wants to show Chinese threat to be more important than Somalia Congress worries more about Kenya and Ethiopia than the 12 million Somalis America itself is influenced by UAE - Qatar tug than Somalis None of the advisors consultants for example proposed radical change or solution. Only one of the consultants asked one question: The question should not be why Al Shabab is strong, but why the SFG is so weak Why have some regions withstood Al Shabab and are least supported (Puntland is one he seems to have had in mind)

1 pointOO, The Saudi and Turkey issue is probably bigger your pay grade. There are certain things that you might not understand due to cultural differences. Also, my friend do not assume you to know the whole pulse of the region. I was in Saudi Arabia lately and the Turkish companies are every where, whether it is In Makkah , Madinah or Jeddah. They just signed multi billion dollar contactor to do the maintenance of one of the largest airlines in the country (Flynus), they share weapons construction and many things. Millions of Saudis are traveling to Turkey for holidays, I can go on. Of course there are geopolitical differences but the relationship is strong. Turkey (the Ottomans) were and are the protectors of the holy land. Despite differences with the Qatar blockade, Turkey has obligatory relationship that binds her with Hejaz. For you, it is okay for the Russians to protect Ethiopia when they even had a pro western king, yet you do not want to swallow the idea of Turkey -Saudi bond that goes 500 years. Ethiopia could work with Chinese and the UAE, at the same time you could have good relations with Turkey and others, yet you want us to draw lines. Any way, we will tell the Saudis that these ports in Berbera and Boosaaso could be developed by the UAE on certain tough conditions like: 1- You must declare the sovereignty of the Somali state from coast to coast ( Zaylac to KIsmaayo). 2- The sesionists must renounce the secession publicly before and contact are signed. It was always In my plan that I will never sit and negotiate with Somaliland before they publicly renounce the separation. Only after that could we discuss any thing. That is how nations deal with these issues. 3-THe Somali government must sign in Mogadishu any deal concerning the development of the said ports. 4-Somalia must have the right to cancel the deal if the UAE violate the contact. 5-The majority stakes of the deal must be owned by the Somali state , namely 60% vs 40% of DP world, and there will not be any third party who could take a stake (Ethiopia). 6-Eventually, all that agreement is subject to the parliament approval. If the parliament decides to keep it's ban, then the whole thing is gone and can not be revived. I can assure that as we speak , the DP world will not spend any penny in Berbera other than suck the dollars from the poor people of Berbera.

1 pointMaakhiri, to be honest, the Farmaajo speech was terrible. I could have said the President had a bad day, but unfortunately this is not the first time. I don't know what it is, but for a man at his level, Farmaajo has difficulties with public speaking. At one point he insulted the Somalis in that speech, by twisting a sentence. He meant to say something good. I felt bad for the guy. When you are at this level, you are expected to perform. Your words carry a lot of weight and the entire nation is watching what you say. I remember Ducaale of SOL saying the other day that Cirro's Wadani supporters are very patient (waa dad dulqaad badan) because when the guy makes a speech, people fall asleep. I think Farmaajo's supporters have ten times more "dulqaad" because the only issue Cirro has with speeches is that he is very slow. Farmaajo's speeches are often incoherent.

1 pointWaa kugu raacsanahay. Soomaaliya waa dowlad taagteeda wanaagsaneyn wali, marka qolo iyo cid walba iskuma diri karno. We need to be tactical iyo si xirfiyeysan loogu fiirsado, siiba Sacuudiga. I don't think Sacuudiga would want to lose Soomaaliya in the same manner they lost their influence in Yeman, Urdu, Lubnaan iyo Suuriya.

1 pointSomalia does not need to ban Ethiopia from doing business in the country, as long as the business is mutually beneficial for both countries. What is being prevented is the illegal attempt by the Tigre and others who are trying to steal Somali national assets, by throwing a few scraps to a few secessionist traitors.

1 pointThey were denied to bring a cable from the sea or land. The Jeegaan government is/was serving the interest of Somcable (Ina Aw Siad) and Somtel (Dahabshill) for eight years. Dahabshiil supposed to be a money transfer and banking company, yet now his Sometel which is carrying the internet cables of In Aw said is trying to destroy Sometel, the oldest telephone company in Somaliland. If Biixi and his corrupt oligarchs does not back off , this will lead to war.

1 pointThe gentleman in the video have the same concerns as I do regarding the point in the contract which prohibits the building of other ports in Somaliland for thirty years and I hope that the government listens to its citizens in Awdal. It is a fact that the vote of no confidence shown by the young men and women in Boorama has more potency and legitimacy than the empty noise coming from Villa AMISOM and its so called parliament.

1 pointDP World does not have any money to spare. THey are pinching every penny in Berbera. The freight that used to came through Wajaale is no more. People are broke from Berbera to Wajaale. They have fired already a third of the workforce. The intension of DP is to hold Berbera as ransom until other issues including the geopolitical issue of Djibouti , Aden (Yemen) and Somalia is resolved. THey will suck the money out of Berbera and throw few bucks to the ruling class without investing any real money. Hoe can an agreement will be signed in spring of 2017, and then again in 2018 with another agreement. The fact is that Siilaanyo and those hungry boys cashed few millions for a port that is worth half a billion dollars. Muuse Biixi could not find one single region in Somaliland to support this move. Mogadishu even told him that there will not be any useless talks in Djibouti or any where else. That was probably the main reason he was crying.
