Galbeedi is correct Somalia is much better off now under Farmaajo/Khayre and we hope for more progress. Leaving aside the romanticized past of the "Kacaanka barakaysan", where will Somalia be today if the civilian democratic rule continued uninterrupted. The tragedy is that Somalia has lost a golden opportunity by allowing incompetent general to lead the country to civil war. What is the cost of opportunity lost? I also differ with Galbeedi that our problems are due mainly to Ethiopia or outside forces. We Somalis destroyed our country and it is up to the Somalis to understand that violence is not a solution, that compromise is not a humiliation that unity is better than disunity and that being patient is a virtue that will bear fruit for future generations.

I agree with that. after the war of 1977, Mengistu mobilize people to save Ethiopia. It wa during the war the he consolidated his dictatorship. What became strange was both countries were in the communist camp. Unlike you guys , I do not see Oromo shedding a lot blood this time around. They are achieving their goals through peaceful protest and striking in major cities which crippled the country. This OO guy is always keep talking about insignificant things that has no bearing to the reality, This issue will not be decided by Agnew or any non significant people. Does anyone one of you Somalis ever met someone called Agnew?, I never. This issue is about Oromo rejecting Tigray power in Ethiopia. It is illegal power gained by the barrel of the gun and nothing else. How can people who are 5% of the population could dominate the rest of 95% percent. No emergency powers will stop the revolution. He has been in these pages for months yet, he never told us one single information about the events that are taking place. He never told us about the extraordinary meeting of the EPRDF which was debating for weeks about finding a leader that could save Ethiopia. Some said let us get rid of HMD now, while others said let us prepare for next election. He Keep repeating about Siyum doing that or how oromo will lose if it does not behave. The threat card TPLF has is to disband Ethiopia , and personally I like that idea. The Oromo is achieving it's goals without huge blood or violence with guns. The most prominent intellectual magazine in America , The Atlantic, said there about the Oromo revolution: "Ethiopia's Oromo population is celebrating a victory today that is probably unprecedented in African history. Without extensive violence or bloodshed, and while almost all of its leading voices languished in jail, a grassroots protest movement has managed to force one of the most powerful regimes in Africa to surrender to its demands" "As an organized strike involving tens of thousands of Oromo youths drew closer to the capital city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopian authorities agreed to release a host of important political prisoners, including Bekele Gerba, a compelling activist whose release from prison the government has fiercely resisted. (Just the week before, Bekele had been sentenced to an additional half-year behind bars, for the crime of singing a protest song in front a judge.) The main issue is how to overcome differences of opinion between the so-called "moderate" and "hardliner" factions with the Tigrean People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which is the most powerful faction with the ruling party. "The TPLF alarm is s alarm is well-founded; the only question is whether its belated concessions to the protests, after years of growing unrest, may be too little, too late. Anger at the perceived economic and political dominance of the small Tigrean ethnic faction is a moving force behind the protests, and the threat of a genocide or other targeted ethnic violence against Tigrean individuals appears to be escalating. Fearful Tigrean citizens have reportedly relocated in large numbers from the Amhara and Oromo regions of the country". The issue is simply between the power holders (TPLF) who must give up and the Oromo who must be accomodated. The only truth you told all these months is that the Amhara were trying to use the Oromo to get the power, while the Oromo is well aware f that and want everything for themselves. Tilamook and others told you that devolution of power and genuine power sharing with other federal satea will only work for Ethiopia. You are trying to give a boost to the hired mercenary Illey by making him a legitimate voice of Somais like Lemma Magrasa who is representing the interest of his people. That is false. The Somalis who were arrested illegally are languishing in Ethiopian jails. The most prominent Somali prisoner is Bashie A. Makhtal who was kidnapped from Kenya. Canadian government had tried every available chanel to release him. His grandfather was the founder of Somali independent movement in Ethiopia. In 1991, he told Meles that his movement is older than his so called TPLF by three decades and does not want to be apart of Ethiopia. The Wayaane does not respond to peaceful negotiations or these Somalis could have been freed long time ago. We need to rise up in Jijiga, Jinacsani, Awbare and Dire Dawa to force the TPLF to release Somalis rotting in jail. You introduced to us like someone who is pointing to us who our enemies are. Your whole campaign was Oromo is eating your children. The whole TPLF project was sustained by the so called war on terror. In 2005, Meles was in the ropes after he was challenged by opposition with huge protests. After the invasion of Somalia in 2006, Meles got hundred of millions from America which allowed to crush his opponents. The Islamic Courts of Somalia saved Meles. The TPLf is making billions on the war against Al-shabaab. According to the Atlantic, "Ethiopia has also proved very willing to retaliate against diplomatic pressure by holding American security interests hostage: in September 2017, for example, when the House Subcommittee on African Affairs attempted to pass a resolution drawing attention to Ethiopia's human rights abuses, Ethiopia's then-ambassador to the United States, Girma Birru, visited the Subcommittee members and threatened to withhold counterterror cooperation in Somalia. Faced with this threat, the Subcommittee immediately abandoned the resolution. (The Subcommittee threatened yesterday to bring the resolution to the floor for a vote on February 28, unless the Ethiopian government gives UN investigatory teams access to the country" As you can see, Ethiopia is making billions of dollars from the Pentagon since to 2006. Average yearly aid, mainly on intelligence, weapons and eavesdropping stations are $700 million a year. Sometimes it even reaches a billion dollar. Most of these money goes to the ruling party and their intelligence and economic interest. Al-shabaab is the best cash cow for the TPLF and Ethiopia. The end of Al-shabaab means the Pentagon security aid would dry quickly. Within Somalia, especially in Hiiraan, Bay and Bakool, and Jubba, the Ethiopian forces usually make un announces deployments and unexpectedly abandoning positions and bases without the knowledge of the Somali government. Usually they abandon their position at down and as soon as they leave Al-shabaab fighters who have direct contact come in and take the weapons left behind for them by the Ethiopian army intelligence. That is why the Somali government is planning the removal these Amisom troops. The status quo is unacceptable. I hope the next prime minister to be Oromo and from the Muslim community, because most of those seeking change are from the eastern region north of Dire dawa, Adama and southern Addis. The Oromo in the east like Jima, Walega or in the Sudan border are not that active.

I understand but it is important to highlight the plight of the average person backhome. It is one of the channels of putting pressure on those politicians. Jeegaan politicians in general don't like the truth being exposed that is why they jail people.

Saalax, please let's not play politics with the sufferings of Somali mothers. Corruption is rife throughout Somalia and an obvious byproduct of this is lack of development and never-ending poverty for the masses. Soon enough the Somali people will overcome venal politicians like the Jeegaan gang.

This is a great news. Citizens don't like their land to be seized by the government, but as long as the government gives appropriate compensation, the landowners should be understanding.

I assume you support or believe reconstituting the former British Somali Protectorate has better chance? You sounds like certain someone's new persona. I guess the old man finally figured there's less insane way to try to get your argument across.without caps, bold letters, italicization, insults and over explanation.

Galbeedi, I only wished that Soomaaliya was more stronger and in more solid position of power when the Xabashi/Tigrey fragmentation happened in order to take advantage and make the likes of Ileey an exemplar of biggest stooge that he is. Regardless, I welcome their disintegration, though.

Saalax, eventually the federal project will reach every region, but Awdal will not be under three or four governments. The so called two or more is the temporary constitution. Everyone knows that we in Awdal will none region under the federal government. We have different history and culture than our neighbors, and that is the main reason we should be our own region. They are our Somali brothers but we have different aspirations.

Che, The irony is the guy who resigned, was their best hope in maintaining the status quo, while addressing some of the Oromo greivences. Tigre Hawks were not happy with his late reconciliatory moves. The emboldened Oromo leaders also didn't appreciate his little favour. He was pressured from both sides and being put between rock and a hard place. What he did is simply let the two camps own the boxing ring and do their laundry by themselves. The word compromise will be badly needed to be added first time to the Ethiopian political dictionary.

Finally, OO shrugs with resignation. OO, everything will be alright. The Oromo, the Amhara and every other ethnicity in Ethiopia has a God given right to self determination. It was a pity that the late Meles and his woyane comrades—after fighting against the injustices of the Amhara Kings and Derg decided —having gained their own freedoms back—to take away the freedoms of their fellow Ethiopians. This was ver unfortunate, for what the Tigre have done has set back the Horn of Africa for a whole generation at a minimum. (You can never right a wrong with a wrong!) So the Tigre are rightfully scared shitless because of all the injustices and mistreatment they liberally heaped upon their fellow Ethiopians. But I hope for the sake of all us in the Horn, the Oromo do not repeat the mistakes of the Tigre, and the Amhara before them, that is, if the Oromo ever rise to power in the first place.

"In order to divert the attention and create ethnic civil war, the Tigray intelligence in coordination with leader of the Somali Zione Cabdi Illey had created a killing squad that raided villagers in the middle of the night. " galbeedi, I am saddened to see that you are capable of promoting and pushing this low level hate propaganda. But to Jawar and Yourself since you seem to be an enthusiastic supporter, here is what I say: This is the cheapest, dirtiest and most crude propaganda ever used. But I understand is most dangerous. If you think this shortcut will get you somewhere, it will be cut short and you will live with the consequences of it rather than your target. You do not have conscience for using any tool in your quest to dominate others. And now you want to involve Somalia, because you run out of steam even using most crude politics. It is not a laughing matter, but the crude and inhumaine methods exposed you to what you are. No low point below which you would not fall. There is no bottom red line you would not cross in any manner. There is no religion you respect its tenets. You are prepared to say anything do anything without rules of human beings. I am not complaining, you choose your methods, just telling you what you are. Unlike you the people you are targeting have moral principles and red lines they would not cross. They choose tools they use.
