How is celebrating the start of a new Gregorian calendar year a sin? Can those who support this wadaad and his point of view explain it to me and to others who are baffled?

I don't know what to say; this is beyond ridiculous!! Banning the new year celebrations, forcefully shaving peoples' hair, assaulting law abiding visitors without any charge, etc., all without any legislation and public awareness campaigns as Galbeedi pointed out!! Is Somaliland a democracy or dictatorship, or theocracy; what is it? Why are the law abiding youth targeted when a large number of Somaliland's political and social elite are drug addicts and alcoholics? What about the rampant corruption in all the branches of government and in every level of the society? Why is the police force in Hargeisa wasting its time doing the job of the barbers when armed robbers roam the streets every night terrorising the population? If the people of Somaliland do not tell these useless politicians what their priorities aught to be, then Somaliland will definitely take a lot of steps backwards.

I concur. The community in Maakhir is overwhelmingly pro-Puntland. Let's hope Jamal is visiting the region to assess its development needs rather than indulge in typical Somali minister self-promotion. The SFG recently got a significant monetary pledge from the US and Qatar, therefore any development projects must be fairly distributed to all regions.

It seems the administration realised that they have crossed the boundaries just like when they assaulted a blameless comedian in Hargeisa!! How many unacceptable mistakes will they make before they learn that Somaliland has something called a constitution?

Saudi Arabia could be in trouble but the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait will be very rich with or without oil as these states have small populations and vast investments across the world.

He was not cosy with them. I am guessing he was invited to give a speech to the graduates of the latest training. He attended, I guess, to not give an impression he was against them. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer philosophy, I guess. Their training programs started with Xasan Sh. Maxamuud government. I don't know what they secretly agreed with them. It is no secret Imaaraadka retains those trained soldiers. Imaaraadka will not be satisfied as long as Turkiga are in Soomaaliya. They are obsessed with them. Imaaraadka also don't want any single port in the country becoming a major transit hub, a la Dubeey. They are worrying about what is going to happen down in the next ten, 20 years, that might be competitive to Dubeey port. Shortsighted and corrupt opportunistic some Soomaali politicians don't try to see this or only care about their pockets.

Rather than curb Qat and other drugs, Hargeisa has started a campaign for hair cut. Before they take police actions against the citizens, they should legislate in the parliament or enact specific by law regarding what kind of hair the Somaliland youth should have. THey should put huge billboards in the middle of the city showing the new Hargeisa hair cut. This people want to oppress the youth . They afraid that these youth might demand jobs, and they know that they could not offer anything. Waxa la damacsan yahay in la cabudhiyo oo la cadaadiyo si aanay uga mudaharaadin shaqa la'aanta. Is this place becoming the land of Taliban and backward society. THese people are getting crazy by the hour.
